THE SAGA CONTINUES

FIXING THE AC WAS APPARENTLY THE EASY PART.

Larry’s story didn’t end with the first song. The joke expands by treating the consequences of an everyday contractor disaster with increasingly outsized seriousness, turning a bad repair experience into an ongoing legend.

THEY STILL HAVEN’T FOUND LARRY.

Larry is back—but fixing the AC apparently isn’t.

The second chapter of The Larry Files takes the unreliable HVAC technician from the original song and puts him on the road, tearing across the American Southwest in a dented van while leaving broken compressors, blown-out air conditioners and increasingly questionable decisions behind him.

THE STORY

THE STORY.

The fifty bucks were only the beginning.

“They Ain’t Found Larry Yet” continues the story introduced in “Larry the AC Man.”

The first song left a customer sweating in the summer heat while Larry took his fifty bucks and disappeared. Part 2 asks the obvious question:

Where did Larry go?

Apparently, everywhere.

Now spray-tanned, flip-flop-wearing and on the run in a dented HVAC van, Larry makes his way across the American Southwest while leaving a trail of broken compressors, stolen tip jars and ruined air-conditioning units behind him.

From Truth or Consequences, New Mexico to the neon lights of Las Vegas, Larry has evolved from one man’s terrible contractor into something considerably larger: an HVAC fugitive with a growing legend.

Is he a villain? A folk hero? A menace to refrigeration everywhere?

One thing’s for sure:

They ain’t found him yet.

VERSE 1
Got a postcard from a town called Truth or Consequences Larry’s hiding out behind some chain-link fences He called me collect from a burner in the rain Said, “The heat in Arizona is a different kind of pain.” He’s got a brand new name and a spray-tan Upgraded that truck to an old HVAC van He’s still got that ladder, and some dents in the door But he ain’t fixing units like he did before.
CHORUS
They ain’t found Larry yet But he’s a hard man to forget He’s across the state line, dodging the law With a broken wrench and his Southern drawl From the Badlands up to the Sunset Strip He’s ruining compressors on his little trip Yeah, the law is coming, you can place your bet But they ain’t found Larry yet.
VERSE 2
He tried to fix a chiller for a diner in Cheyenne Left the wires hanging like a desperate man He took the diners tip jar and a slice of cherry pie Left ’em blowing hot air ’neath a Big Old Sky He’s now got a matching flip-flop, found it in a ditch Says he’s got a feeling he’s about to get rich But the Sheriff’s on the radio, describing the van And a “highly incompetent HVAC man.”
BRIDGE
I heard he’s in Vegas, or maybe Boise The trail is hot and the engine’s noisy He texted me a picture of a desert sunset Said, “Tell the boys downtown I ain’t done yet!”
VERSE 3
My AC’s still broken, I’m a hundred degrees While Larry’s out there doing just what he please He’s a ghost in the humidity, a thief in the night Ignoring those flickering service lights.
OUTRO
He’s on the run (They ain’t found Larry yet) He’s got my fifty bucks (They ain’t found Larry yet) Still won’t fix the air (They ain’t found Larry yet) He’s a legend... somewhere...
